This book is composed of short stories, starting with a Zookeeper and his Elephant "Jumbo" and ending with two artists living in a home in Canada. While these stories are based on facts and written to the authors imagination, each story has it's own flair and local color.
I am not a big fan of short stories, but having loved Room, I really wanted to like this book. I found it was definitely not my cup of tea. I even had trouble giving it a star rating and found my mind drifting and almost not caring what happened. The redeeming quality for me was the historical information at the end of each story detailing what the story was based on.
