Title: Dead and Gone

Author: Jennifer Rebecca

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Release Day: March 11th

Cover by Alyssa Garcia at Uplifting Designs.

About Dead and Gone:

You ever have an out of body experience? Like one of those moments where you’re standing on a street corner watching yourself do something monumentally stupid? Something you know you shouldn’t do but you just can’t help yourself?

Three weeks ago, Trent and I were deep into the Honeymoon stage of love, I swore I wouldn’t be the first one to rock the boat—Lord knows with our two Irish tempers it would happen soon enough—so when he made me promise to keep my nose and our grandmothers out of his investigation, I did.

It didn’t hurt that his head was buried between my legs at the time either. But then Daisy called me begging for help and what kind of bestie would I be if I shut the door in her face? That’s right, a sh*tty one. So I packed up our grandmothers and their gogo boots, g-strings and pasties to get to the bottom of things. Only problem is if Trent catches us I’ll be dead meat, folks.

My name is Shelby Whitmore, Funeral and Obituaries columnist for the San Diego Metro News and most likely to be single again if I survive this sh*t. But hey, at least I’m still a hit with the blue hairs . . .

Exclusive Excerpt:

I’m dead meat. Literally. Dead. Meat.

Last month, when Trent and I started up again, I promised him that I wouldn’t do anything crazy. I wouldn’t go off half cocked. And most importantly, I wouldn’t follow our grandmothers down the crazy assed rabbit hole of Granny Grabbers and Dangerous Dames.

“You’re not police officers,” he had said.

And I agreed. We’re not.

Trent also might have coerced me into agreeing with him in the most despicable ways. One minute my legs are wrapped around his neck and my eyes are rolled back in my head and I’m one more “Oh, yes,” away from the promised land.

“Shell,” he said to me in between licks and kisses. “Promise me you won’t do anything crazy.” He kissed me again and again.

“Yes,” I ignored him as I rocked against his mouth moving closer and closer.

“Promise,” he commanded as I spiraled closer and closer to the edge.

“Yes!” I cried.

“You promise?” He asked me again but I was too far gone.

“Sweet Petunia, yes!”

“I’m so glad we agree. You have no idea how happy this makes me, Shelby.” Trent smiled as he slithered up my body like the snake that he is.

Although, I had an idea how happy my climax had made him as it was currently poking me in the thigh. Before I had a chance to catch my breath or even question what, exactly, Trent and I agreed on, he slid all the way inside me to the hilt and my eyes rolled back in my head.

*****

As It turned out, we had allegedly agreed that I wouldn’t go on any more cappers with my friend, Daisy, the retired hooker, and our grandmothers. Sophia was out, she was at some big, fancy figure skating competition in Chicago.

I still agreed. I mean, what kind of trouble could two widowed senior citizens, a retired hooker, and an obituaries columnist for the local paper get into. I mean really. Lightning doesn’t strike twice. It doesn’t, right?

And Trent and I had worked out some kinks. He yelled less. I pretended to listen more. And when I didn’t he used his handsome mouth in better ways than yelling if you catch my drift. We were officially in the love bubble. The honeymoon stage. I wasn’t ready to rock the boat for just anything all willy nilly.

But Daisy, my sweet, fabulous, eccentrically dressed best friend had a problem. Several of her . . . ummm . . . colleagues from the old days were missing. Like really missing, not shacked up with a John. And she was worried. Yes, my sweet friend, Daisy, had a problem and she came to me for help, advice, I don’t really know what. All I know is that led me to today as I sit, handcuffed to the pipes of a bathroom sink in a filthy motel just this side of Mexico, dressed like a cheap hooker. Yep, I’m in trouble, folks. Just like I said . . . Dead. Meat. My name is Shelby Whitmore, funeral and obituaries columnist for the San Diego Metro News and most likely to be single again if I survive this shit. I guess I should start at the beginning . . .

Exclusive Excerpt:

While the kids were held captive by one of the men donning a heavy tan fire suit, Ali felt someone come stand beside her. She glanced to her right and found Kellen. He seemed much bigger, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with her, than he had the other day. Ali wouldn’t consider herself short, and he still had at least six inches on her.

“You doin’ okay?” he whispered, keeping his eyes trained forward.

“Aces. Why do you ask?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Could have something to do with the pale skin and choppy breathing. Or maybe it’s the way you’re swaying on your feet.”

Crap.

She hadn’t thought it was so noticeable.

She caught the eye of one of her students who’d turned to talk to the boy next to him and motioned for him to be quiet and pay attention before she whispered back, barely moving her lips, “Occupational hazard. I’m fine.”

“Of course you are, but why don’t you have a seat before you fall over?”

Ali gritted her teeth. More than a little annoyed that he’d noticed. Annoyed that she felt like crap. Annoyed that he’d ordered her around. And annoyed that the pills were barely keeping her on her feet. “I said, I’m fine.”

“Whatever you say, Ali Cat.”

“Excuse me? Did you just call me an alley cat?”

When he didn’t respond, she glanced up at him and found him completely relaxed, calmly watching the firemen who began taking questions from the kids.

That only annoyed her further.

“You know, in polite society, people don’t go around pointing out how crappy someone else looks.”

“And, if you’d retract your claws a little, you’d realize I never said you looked crappy. I was simply asking if you were feeling okay.”

Double crap.

Ali closed her eyes.

He was right, and she was being a bitch again.

She had ninety more minutes before she could head home and quarantine herself—and her bitchiness—in a hot bath where she couldn’t infect anyone else.

But there was something she needed to do first.

“I’m sorry.”

“Accepted,” Kellen easily returned.

“No, not just for today,” she continued. “For last week in front of the diner. I was snippy that day, too, and you didn’t deserve it then any more than you deserve it now.”

“Has everyone been graced with your sunny demeanor lately, or am I just that lucky?”

She huffed out a surprised laugh. “You’ve been luckier than most.”

“Any particular reason?”

None that she was going to share. “Luck of the draw, I guess.”

“Fair enough.”

“And I appreciate your concern. Thank you for checking on me.”

See, I can be nice.

STROKE OF LUCK ~ B.J. DANIELS --> EXCERPT

From New York Times bestselling author B.J. Daniels, comes STROKE OF LUCK—the stunning first novel in her brand new Western-set romantic suspense Sterling’s Montana Series!

STROKE OF LUCK releases on February 19, 2019. Pre-order your copy today!

STROKE OF LUCK Synopsis:

He’s hoping to bury the past. She’s ready to settle the score.

The Sterling Ranch’s season opening isn’t going so smoothly. With the ranch’s lodge full of guests and a Montana blizzard threatening, Will Sterling needs help—and he needs it fast. So when his childhood friend Poppy Carmichael agrees to lend a hand, he’s grateful for a second chance…and more enticed by the woman she’s become than he cares to admit.

For Poppy, it was supposed to be a retreat full of horse rides and hoedowns—with a side of showing Will what he’s been missing all these years. But as the snow deepens outside, the guests’ suspicion and mistrust turn sinister inside, catching Will and Poppy in the crosshairs.

Weathering the storm in each other’s arms is all too easy for Will and Poppy, but will a confrontation with a killer mean their reunion is short-lived?

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author B.J. Daniels starts her Sterling’s Ranch series off with a bang in this suspenseful story of romance and revenge.

EXCERPT:

“I would be in your debt.” He squeezed the re¬ceiver of the landline in the kitchen. To say that the guest ranch was remote was putting it mildly. There was no TV, no internet, no cell phone service. The lodge had three landline phones with outside access, one of them large and black and possibly original to the ranch. It was located in the lodge lounge. Guests always got a kick out of it since anyone under about thirty had never used a phone with a dial.
“Seriously, I apologize for calling at such late no¬tice,” he said, closing his eyes as he made a wish that this would work out. “I’ll understand if you really can’t do it.” There was no reason this woman would agree to this given the way he’d treated her when they were young.
Another bemused chuckle. “How about I pick up a few things and see you in a couple of hours.”
Will couldn’t believe it, telling himself that no matter what Dorothea said, their luck had changed. He let out a relieved breath. At the back of his mind, though, there remained a sliver of unease about hir-ing Poppy given their history. He hoped he wasn’t making a mistake.
He watched his younger brother leave the kitchen to go outside to welcome the guests. Shade was more of a natural at this than either Garrett or himself, Will thought. But it was late March, calving season, so both of his brothers would be returning to the ranch down in the valley today. They’d only stopped up to bring him the supplies Buckshot hadn’t been able to finish delivering himself after he’d broken his leg.
“You’re saving my life,” Will said into the phone.
“What are old friends for?” Poppy replied and disconnected.
He stood for a moment holding the phone, repeat¬ing her words in his head and trying to decide if her tone was cause for concern. They had definitely not been old friends—at least, not at the end.
“What’s wrong?” Garrett asked as he finished his water and deposited the plastic bottle in the re-cycling bin.
Will shook his head. “Poppy. It’s just that I don’t remember leaving things on the best of terms with her before she moved away.”
His brother laughed. “That was twenty years ago! I’m sure she doesn’t remember. She was just a kid.”
He nodded. “A kid with a crush on me. I’m bet¬ting I could have handled it better.”
“Seriously?” Garrett said as he placed a hand on his shoulder. “You were fifteen and what was she, twelve?” He shook his head. “It will be fine.” Then he laughed. “Of course, if I’m wrong you just hired a cook who might poison you.” He seemed to think that was a lot more humorous than it was as he left laughing.
Will turned to see Dorothea shaking her head.
“Everything is going to be fine,” he tried to assure her and himself. He’d waited years for his father to step aside and let him run the guest ranch. After his father’s fatal heart attack, he wanted to make him proud. They might have butted heads, but he loved his father and knew that the man only wanted the best for him and his brothers—and the guest ranch. Now, it was up to Will to take over the legacy he’d been left and not screw it up. “I have everything under control.”

THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE ~ MIMI JEAN PAMFILOFF --> RELEASE DAY BLITZ

Today we have the release day blitz of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE! Check out this fun new romance and grab your copy today!

Title: The Battle of the Bulge

Author: Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Genre: Romance

About THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE:

From New York Times Bestseller, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, comes a new Romantic Comedy.

“Chicks can’t be bodyguards. Especially hot chicks.”

MY NAME IS MITCH HOFER. I’m a world-famous swimmer from Australia, best known for three things: my gold medals, my looks, and filling out a swimsuit with my…eh-hem–bulky equipment. Let’s just say there’s a reason my nickname is “The Bulge.”

But beyond the fame, sponsors, and glory, there’s more to me than people know, including one hell of a mess I’ve gotten mixed up in. Life or death stuff, so bring in the professionals. Just don’t give me a chick bodyguard. Especially a young hot one who hates my guts.

MY NAME IS ABI CARTER, and I hate Mitch Hofer. Yeah, he might be the sexiest champion swimmer in the world, but I’d give this guy a gold medal for being a first-class jerk.

Unfortunately, my boss has given me a choice–guard Mitch or get another job. And I really need the money. I can be professional, but if Mitch says “chicks can’t be bodyguards” one more time, I just might strangle him myself.

Exclusive Excerpt:

Abi

If you could pick one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

Optimist?

Extrovert?

Driven or feisty?

If you’d asked me a few years ago, I would have said shy. Seriously, turtles had nothin’ on me. I was the girl in school who always pushed her hair down around her face, sat in the back of the classroom, and rarely raised her hand. I never would’ve described myself as brave. Or deadly.

Of course, I’m all grown up now, nearly twenty-two, and I can’t afford to be that girl anymore. Especially because I need money. A lot of it. Which is why I’m standing in the slushy mud after hiking seven hours in the freezing Alaskan snow while carrying a fifty-pound pack filled with survival gear. This is the world’s toughest job interview, but if I pass, I’ll make three times what I could anywhere else.

A projectile whizzes past my ear, and I plunge headfirst into a thick pile of snow between two towering pines. Jesus! Who am I kidding? I’m no GI Abi! I’m a certified geekoid. President of the Star Trek Uhura Club, avid romance-book lover, cowbell player in my university’s beginners’ band, and the founder of Business is Sexy enthusiast group who promotes business and finance majors among the women’s clubs on campus. All these groups are new endeavors for me—my way of trying to be more social—so I can learn to love new things.

Okay. Most new things. This bodyguard bootcamp? Possibly a huge mistake.

Of course, I’m not naïve. I know that life rarely turns out the way people expect. When my father died of a heart attack about six years ago, I never imagined how much I’d miss him. Suddenly, this man who used to drive me crazy with his lectures about grabbing the bull by the horns became the one person no man could ever compare to. Losing him made me see how special he was and how lucky we were to have him—something my mother knew for years.

After he died, her life began falling apart. Not because she wallowed or felt sorry for herself. Not even. She is a pillar of strength, both as a human being and as the owner of an interior design company. Her misfortunes have all been a series of random events—some horrible client who spent one hundred K on custom furniture and design work then decided to sue for his money back because his new girlfriend didn’t like the style. That same week, there was a flood in her warehouse and her insurance company went under. Fabrics, curtains, pillows, and her entire house-staging inventory for the realtor clients. Gone. It’s been one disaster after another, but she still manages to keep a high chin and a wide smile.

Honestly, her can-do attitude is what inspired me to apply for a job as a bodyguard. I’m fighting for a chance to get our mortgage back to square, pay for my final semester of college, and keep her interior design business from tanking. If I’m lucky, I’ll run my own business someday, too.

I remove my dirty white parka, toss it to the snow-covered ground, and press my back to a wide tree trunk. I’m frozen to the bone, but my camo thermal shirt will blend in better with the bark.

One more kill, Abi. Just one more, and this will all be over. No, I’m not really going to kill anyone. But I do have to tag one more trainer with my airsoft rifle. Otherwise, I fail bootcamp. I’m all out of ammo, so after this last pellet, it’s game over.

“You got this, girl,” I whisper to myself, ignoring the aches in my back, legs, and arms from crouching and crawling over rocks and frozen branches.

I hear my target’s soft footsteps crunching through the freshly fallen snow. This is it. Steady. Keep calm…I wrap my frozen pink finger around the trigger and hold my breath. You got this, Abi. You got this.

Suddenly, I hear more footsteps approaching to my left. And to my right! They’ve been tracking me all day, and now I’m surrounded.

Just like I’d hoped. Because sometimes life hands you lemons. And other times it hands you grenades.

I smile, reach into my pocket, and grab my pellet bomb. Abi’s graduating today, boys!

Title: Someone Like You

Author: Alexandra Silva

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Someone Like You:

Dorian Anson is my friend. She's the only person who's ever questioned my smiles. My jokes. The one liners that have our friends shaking their heads at me.
I've lived my life on those smiles. They never failed me, until her.

I wasn't counting on her when I designed my front. I never imagined the possibility of someone like her coming into my life.

The wild hair, the kind smile and those eyes that see everything.

She was the girl with the beautiful soul, pretty face and whole heart. But hearts aren't made to stay whole.

I watched hers break. I watched her tears fall. I watched as her world tilted on its axis and shattered at her feet.

This girl.

She sees me, all parts of me—the truths I try to hide, the secrets I bury. What's mine and what's not.

She sees it all, and I can only hope the truth isn't too much. That she won't walk away.

That she won't leave me...alone.

We both have a past. We have ghosts. We have fears.

I'm hoping that somehow in the end, we'll have each other too.

I've never needed anyone before her, and I know I'll never want anyone else after her.

There is no one like her.

My pretty girl.

Dorian.

EXCERPT:

I ended the call and dropped my phone onto the polished concrete counter. Daniel’s excited voice chimed from the hallway as he answered the intercom, confirming it was Jake, and then let him in.

He opened our front door and stood quite literally jumping from foot to foot. I could feel the excitement emanating off him, and I had to admit, that even I was a little on the chirpy side for seeing Jake tonight.

“You don’t have to stand there and wait with me.” He smiled at me as he glanced down the stairwell.

“Alright, but stay away from the railing, okay?”

“Yep.”

“Okay, stay by the door.”

As soon as he moved back to the threshold I wandered back into the flat, sticking the kettle on as I looked for something to do to get rid of the jittery energy coursing through me. I opened and closed the steaming dishwasher checking to see if it was ready to unload, even though its tell-tale loud beeps hadn’t sounded the end of the programme yet.

I glanced down my body, pulling down at the hem of my black vest and then pulling the deep scoop neckline up to hide my braless cleavage. I tugged at my leggings, hoping that my knickers weren’t showing. Stupidly I even checked my toenails for any chips…

What to do? What. To. Do?

I checked my emails on my phone and was about to reply to the most urgent one when Jake’s deep laugh sounded through the hallway to the living area. Daniel’s excited one-hundred miles an hour chatter chasing it up.

“What on earth?” He paused in the middle of the room, his gaze wide as he took in the mess I’d made of the TV unit.

“I told you!”

“She’s really done a number here, huh?”

“Who’s she? The cat’s mother?” I said from where I was still leaning on the kitchen counter. “Hi.”

“Did you want to pull every cable out?” he chuckled as he made his way to the kitchen.

“Don’t.” I rolled my eyes at his teasing. “I’m embarrassed enough as it is. You’d have thought that after eight years of doing this parent thing, I’d have it all sussed.”

“You’ve got enough sussed, anymore and you’d really be a know it all, and no one likes a know it all.” He took his keys and wallet out of his pocket and put them on the counter, in the same place he always did. It was like there was a marking for where his things belonged on my kitchen side. He followed it up with a small paper bag branded with my favourite patisserie’s logo. “I thought you might need something to even out this disaster.”

I tried so hard to bite down the smile that forced itself onto my face, “You didn’t even know what you were walking into.”

“No, but I figured you’d need something sweet to let go of the grudge you’re holding against the console.” He laughed.

“I don’t think it likes me very much either.”

“Well…” he chirped as he pulled out a small box from the bag and placed it in front of me and then took out a bag of Magic Stars and one of Daniel’s favourite giant chocolate buttons.

“You bring me fancy confectionery and you only have baby chocolates?”

“Baby chocolates?” I couldn’t help but giggle at the quirk of his brow. “I’ll have you know that these are better than any macaroon you could put in front of me.”

“If you say so, baby Jake.” I teased as I turned to make myself a long, milky coffee and him his usual short espresso.
“You’d think that after all these years, you’d accept that I have a pretty loyal relationship with these.”

“Oh, I accept it, but I still don’t understand it. Even Daniel’s grown out of those. You know they’re eighty percent sugar, right?” I tempered my coffee with a generous drop of milk before I took his caffeine shot from the Nespresso machine I barely used with the exception of when he or Willow visited.

It was only then I noticed that he was unusually quiet. There was a cloudy, wistful look on his face which he tried to conceal with a shake of his head and a wide smile the moment he realised I was studying him.

“Thank you,” he murmured as he took the tiny cup from my hand, his fingers brushing mine and even though he had it well in his grip, he lingered momentarily. His smile went a little lax and fell even from his eyes as they wandered down my body, blinked rapidly and then flitted back to mine. His tongue did that thing where it wet his plush lip before he sucked it between his teeth. His nose flared as he took in a long breath…
Oh man, I could feel my cheeks heat as I struggled to look away from him.

“Yes!” I pulled my hand back a little too quickly as Daniel perched himself up on the kitchen counter and made for the packet of buttons. “Are you going to stay for a little bit after we’ve connected the PlayStation? We could play Sonic again. I think I can beat you now.”
“One game and then it’s bedtime, buddy.”

“One game? That’s nothing, one tournament, please, Mum? It’s the weekend.”

“We could be here a long time with a tournament,” Jake said as he threw a few chocolate stars in his mouth and followed them up with his shot of coffee. “How about we do one of those six game matches. You win and I’ll get you the game on your iPad, but you can only play when your mum says it’s okay.”

“Deal.” Daniel jumped down from the counter and raced to the sitting area, “Come on then, we don’t have time to lose here!”
“Slave driver.” Jake muttered with a grin as he tipped a few more chocolate bits into his mouth and then sauntered off towards Daniel and the mess that was my TV unit.

“You started his obsession with that game.” I took one of the small macaroons and took a slow, delicious bite. My eyes closed as the rich nutty, chocolate goodness made me sigh, “Mmmm, these are the best I’ve ever had.”

I opened my eyes, still enjoying the lingering pleasure on my taste buds, to find Jake ogling me. His jaw a little too tense and his fledgling smile completely gone.

“What?”

He shook his head as he took a deep breath, his hands running through his hair as he muttered something to himself and spun back towards the sofa.

About THE FEEL GOOD FACTOR (Coming 3/25/2019):

I have a fantastic family, great best friends, a job I love…and now I’m up for a promotion to police sergeant. I need total focus—not a flirty, dirty, irresistible, tattooed hottie riding into my town on his motorcycle. Can I arrest him for being too good-looking? When he kisses me senseless in the back of a waffle truck, it’s criminal, the things he makes me think about hot syrup and melted butter. One order of hot, fluffy hookup to go, please.

But the next time I see him, it’s not for our date with benefits. He’s the guy who just rented the room above my garage.

I need the rent to pay my bills, not a man like Derek, who I soon discover to be strong, caring, generous, good with kids, and kind to puppies… If I’m not careful, he’ll be moving into my heart as well as my house.

***

A no-strings-attached fling with the fiery redhead who revs my engine? Why, yes, that does sound like a delicious perk of my new job in this new town, thank you very much. I’m coming off a bad relationship, and I have zero interest in anything serious. I’ve got all the serious I need helping my sister take care of her three little kids while her husband is deployed.

Except, surprise! Perri isn’t just my future fling. Turns out she’s my sexy, sassy landlord.

A lease definitely counts as “strings attached,” and as much as I’d like to get tangled in her sheets, I can’t let myself get tangled up in a relationship.

But as soon as we put the cuffs on our escapades, I learn over late-night conversations in the kitchen, that my landlord is so much more than the sexiest woman I’ve ever met– she has a quick mind and the biggest heart.

Once I’m in, I’m all in. And to convince her that we should see where this goes, I plan on turning up the heat—and not just in the kitchen.

THE LAST WINGMAN ~ DAISY PRESCOTT --> COVER REVEAL

We are so excited to be sharing with you the cover for THE LAST WINGMAN by USA Today bestselling author Daisy Prescott. THE LAST WINGMAN is the final book in the Wingmen series and will be published on March 7, 2019.

About THE LAST WINGMAN

Jonah Kingston is the last wingman standing.

June Moxee doesn’t care if he’s the last man on earth.

I haven’t exactly avoided relationships, but love has never been a priority. Solitude doesn’t bother me and being alone doesn’t mean being lonely. Until she moved to the island and I had to reconsider everything.

June seems content running her yarn shop, knitting with the local church ladies, and avoiding me. She’s a temptress in a handknit sweater. And for some reason, she’s not a fan of mine. It might be the tattoos. Or the beard. Or the fact that we’re polar opposites.

A woman has finally caught my attention. Too bad she thinks she hates me.

Good thing I’m stubborn enough to try to change her mind.

The Last Wingman is the sixth standalone, lighthearted small town romance in the Wingmen series. You do not have to read the previous books first to enjoy this book.
