MY REVIEW:
Feeling a little apprehensive about reading a debut book by an author seems to be my MO lately, but I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of the characters and the well thought out plot of this book.
Emmet is a product of a dysfunctional family dynamic and has sworn off relationships, but then along comes Jade and smacks him in the head, figuratively, with a stick she was throwing for her dog, Titan.
Jade is yammering on about how sorry she is as she is nervous looking at this good looking man.
Emmet offers her 24 hours of being together and then he says he will walk away. What Emmet doesn't realize is that he cannot get Jade out of his mind and something is different.
This is the point at which I would assume there would just be a lot of sex and then a thank you and goodbye, but it isn't. The author digs deep and pulls out feelings and emotions that were truly surprising. I even found myself with tears rolling down my eyes at something that happens.
Going in you need to realize this is not just your typical love story, there is depth, drama, deceit and development.
Now, I'm anxious to read the next book in the series as there is more to what is going on and I want to immerse myself in this world.
Absolutely a hit with me.
