About Night Fox:
Beckett Fox lives his life on the edge between danger and responsibility, and that’s all he’s ever known… until he meets Avery. Now, time at home is more appealing than the do-or-die future he’d always pictured for himself.
Fox has everything he’s ever wanted. But he knows better than anyone that life can change direction faster than the wind.
When an accident threatens to destroy his entire world, Fox will have to choose between fighting for what he loves or letting his past dictate his future.
How much strength does it take to move forward when history seems determined to knock you down? And how do you find the path to redemption when you don’t even recognize your own life?
When the wind shifted, I knew this would be more than an eighteen-hour day. We all did. I went through the motions I’d been trained for, checking supplies, working the containment line, keeping up communications with air support and the ranger station. Trying not to get burned alive by the furious inferno that seemed intent on taking down all four million acres of the Oka-Wen National Forest… the usual.
No time to think about anything else, no time to dwell on the months-empty condo back in Seattle or the fact that lately everything I did seemed like a prequel to my life actually starting. This fire wanted us, and she wasn’t giving up. Mother Nature had it in her to be the worst girlfriend you’d ever had.
“Damn, Foxy,” McDaniels panted, jogging up to my side. “Is today over yet or what?”
I cracked a grin at him, feeling the blistering heat from the sun and the fire mix into one and swirl around us as I hefted my chainsaw. “Not by a landslide.”
McDaniels gave me the side-eye. “Really? You wanna joke about landslides?”
“Hey now,” Sloane popped his head out of the crew buggy where he was listening intently to the handheld radio. “None of that.”

The unevenly paved Mexico streets are as jacked up as any out in the Ruins. Rainey and I make our way past colorful buildings with chipping paint and rusted railings surrounding precarious balconies. But at least the ground isn’t moving.
“You’re looking a little less ripe, there, Cyrus,” Rainey says with her raspy voice.
I cut my eyes to her, but don’t respond. I’ve never been as sick in my life as I was on that boat. All I want to do is get to a hotel and lie down. Aside from the sea sickness, we had an uneventful trip. No one paid any attention to us when we docked, and we’ve walked for several hours now without being accosted.
Since we’re posing as a couple, when we approach the center of town, I reach down and take Rainey’s hand. It’s even smaller than Evan’s and feels foreign resting in mine.
Rainey lifts her gaze to mine and smirks. Yeah, she’s about as thrilled with this ruse as I am. We enter the lobby of a stained green two-story hotel with crooked, worn shutters. A stone floor lists to one side as we make our way to the registration desk where a guy with a thick mustache and a bright orange button up shirt greets us. He says something in Spanish with enthusiasm, smiling so hard his cheeks nearly touch his ears.
Rainey responds, indicating me and continues on in a rapid fire conversation. She hands him a few bills and he gives her a key.
I follow her back outside, carrying our bags. One duffel is filled with a handful of clothes and toiletries and the others are stuffed with more bags to carry guns and ammo back to the Union. Money is sewn in hidden pockets in our fatigues, a knife is strapped to my ankle, and a gun sits in the waistband of my jeans.
Rainey heads down an alley only wide enough for us to fit through single-file. Behind the hotel is a staircase that wobbles with each step. Great. She stops at a door at the end of a narrow balcony with only a suspect railing to keep us from tumbling down the rocks to the beach a hundred feet below.
We enter a dark room smelling of vomit and dirty socks. A queen-sized bed is against the wall and a beat-up upholstered chair and ottoman sit in the corner.
“Only one bed?”
“We’re supposed to be a couple visiting from the Northern Territories,” she says. “I couldn’t very well ask for two beds.”
Rainey is about half my size, but there’s no way I’m letting her sleep anywhere but the bed.
“Okay, I’ll take the chair.”
She snorts. “You don’t have to do that. Your virtue is safe with me. Plus, you’re not exactly my type.”
My head swings her way. “Wrong plumbing?”
“Ego much? Wow, just because I don’t want to get all sweaty and horizontal with you, I must not be into guys. Is it really that rare for a hetero girl not to fling herself at you?”
I roll my eyes, not in the mood for this, but if we’re going to share a bed, might as well get this conversation over with. “No. It was the way you said it. I don’t know, forget I said anything.”
“You’re not bad to look at or anything, I just prefer my guys to be…less pathetically in love with someone else.”
“Point made. I’m gonna lie down until my stomach stops heaving. Join me or don’t.”
I flop on the bed and close my eyes, still feeling the gentle, and then not-so-gentle, rocking of the waves until I doze off

Charli has a plan for her life. It does not include the hot guy at table four. This is the first time she’s seen him at The Crash, the bar where she works most evenings. From the moment he arrives with his power suit, condescending friends, and unnerving stare, he’s hijacked her thoughts. It doesn’t help that he keeps finding ways to insinuate himself into her life.
Logan has a plan for his life. It does not include the quirky little waitress at the new bar his friends discovered. He has a lot of obligations and very little time. If he needs a female distraction once in awhile, she isn’t the type of woman he normally looks to. Despite all of this, she has become what he wants most of all.
Working to overcome all the things threatening to separate them won’t be easy. Can they find a way to meet in the middle if it holds the promise of happily ever after?
Amazon | Barnes and Noble
After looking to make sure both Kyle and Liv are occupied with something besides watching me, I risk another look at Logan’s table, but he isn’t there. Has he left?
It’s probably better for me if he has, but I feel disappointed nonetheless. Turning my head back toward my destination, I feel the bone wrenching shock of crashing into what must be a cement wall.
“Ugh!” I always thought it was funny when cartoon characters hit their head and literally saw stars, but for the first time I realize that it can be a real phenomenon.
Feeling myself going down, I’m soon flat on my ass and surrounded by the broken glass of several beer bottles. I’m also covered in the liquid that was previously contained in those broken bottles. Now I’ll have to leave work to shower, or risk spending all night smelling like a drunk on a major bender.
“Damn! Chuck, are you okay?”
Looking up, I realize my cement wall is tanned, muscled, and in possession of amazing gold-flecked, green eyes. “What did you call me?” I croak as I try to figure out how to get up without embedding glass into my hands. The image, of Frankenstein-style stitches covering my palms, is enough to make me take this seriously.
Running his hand through his hair, Logan sighs. Then he bends down and scoops me up into his arms like it’s nothing at all. I know I’m not heavy, but it really looks like it took absolutely no effort on his part.
“Charli, I’m so sorry. I really am.” He whispers near my ear as he continues to hold onto me and the warmth of his breath makes me shiver lightly.
“Are you sorry for calling me that stupid name again? Or for making me bust my ass?”
It’s a legitimate question and I feel the chuckle reverberate through his chest. Maybe I should be upset that I’ll have a bruised backside by tomorrow, maybe I should be upset that I now have a mess of glass and beer to clean up, and maybe I shouldn’t feel this excitement at being held tightly against the rock hard body of a shit hot guy that pissed me off so recently, but…
“Both, I guess,” he says, and when he smiles down at me, I find it hard to remember what I’d even asked him.
This man has a beautiful smile.
Stacey Brandon & Karen Bell Bio:
Once upon a time, these two hookers became best friends…
Stacey Brandon and Karen Bell both live in the same small Texas town on the Gulf Coast, are happily married and the proud Moms of awesome kids. Stacey owns and runs a photography studio and Karen designs and sews her own children’s clothing line. They met over fifteen years ago when they decided to turn one large professional space into a single home for both businesses.
Well, that’s all the boring facts expected to be included in an “about the author” page, right? The reality is so much more fun. Stacey and Karen and their families spend holidays together, travel together… and generally turn every situation into something crazy and chaotic. They are both fluent in English, Sarcasm and Profanity and have decided the irrefutable proof of their best friend status is how often people assume they are “together” when in public. The poor husbands are good sports about it… and might even encourage this misconception at times for sheer entertainment value.
When Karen battled cancer… and kicked its ass… in 2014, they learned to value every day and quit worrying about what others think. Do what you love! Karen is happy to take advantage of the situation though. She loves to remind everyone she “had the CANCER, dammit!” and now she can always and forever claim the last brownie ;)

Growing up, Jason Stern led a charmed life complete with devoted sisters, a father who was one of Brooklyn’s most respected rabbis, and a mother who made the world's best babka. He headed to NYU ready for anything—except falling for the wrong guy, coming out, and getting disowned by his once-loving family. In spite of that, Jason managed to graduate with honors. He's got friends who treat him like family, and he's proudly running the largest LGBTQ teen shelter in Manhattan. Life is good, but he's still falling for the wrong men.
When charming, sexy Quinn Fitzpatrick begins work at the shelter, Jason falls hard and fast. Quinn is tall, blond, funny—damn near perfect. Only if Quinn’s gay, even he doesn't seem to know it. If he does, he's not telling anyone. And he's about one ceremony away from becoming a Catholic priest.
Long hours of work turn to long nights of talking and laughter, and Jason dares to hope this time he's falling for the right guy. But Quinn's got a past to deal with and major decisions to make about his future. When Quinn leaves for a silent retreat, Jason knows the silence may change everything.
I had no idea how long my heart could continue beating at the fever pitch it had reached. I wasn’t sure I wanted to know either.
All I wanted was for Quinn to keep talking.
That’s a lie. All I really wanted was for Quinn to kiss me again. He’s been thinking about guys that way since he was a kid. It wasn’t just tonight.
An instant replay flashed in my mind. Lips. Tongue. Heat. More, please.
My hands ached to touch him, but I didn’t dare. I did scoot closer. He stayed so still. Like he was afraid to do anything. “So tonight, when you kissed me….”
“I’ve been wanting to do that for weeks. I just didn’t have the nerve. I was afraid… of everything.”
“You don’t have to be afraid of me.”
I inched even closer. His breathing sped up. I reached up and put my hand on his shoulder, letting my fingers move along the tight muscles of his neck. He’s not pulling away. Fuck it. I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
A strangled sigh escaped him as he kept his lips pressed to mine. It simultaneously broke my heart and lifted it up. We’re kissing.
I broke the kiss, keeping my face close, and he rested his forehead against mine. It took some effort, but I kept my hand from shaking as I continued to slowly stroke his neck. “Tell me.”
“What?” he whispered.
“Anything. Anything you’ve ever thought about doing.”
His heart pounded hard enough that I could feel it. I kneaded a knot in his shoulder until he exhaled in a warm rush, but there were still no words.
Leaning closer, I let my lips hover near his ear, then placed a kiss on his neck.
His head turned slowly until his eyes met mine. The normally bright hue was dark, stormy, almost eclipsed by the black expanse of his pupils.
“Tell me. I won’t judge. And we don’t have to do anything if you don’t want. I just want to know. What have you thought about trying?”
I held my breath, praying he’d answer. For once, God heard me.
Quinn shuddered, then whispered, “Everything.”

About THE PROMISE OF SURRENDER:
Mia Russo spent ten years working undercover, entrenched in the dregs of society before handing in her shield. Opening her own pawn shop is a piece of cake in comparison. All she needs is the bad attitude she developed on the streets and the shotgun under her counter to keep law and order. Until the day Zeke McBride walks into her shop.
Zeke knows Mia has every right not to trust him. He was the one who chose the next op instead of her. And all he can hope is that somewhere under the snarl and cynicism is a woman who can forgive. Because whether she trusts him or not, they’re going to have to work together to bring down the gang that’s decided Mia is their next target.
Mia had learned early on that the best course of action was to stay off his radar, so she headed toward the back room where the pool tables were located. She passed Jana Metcalfe along the way. Jana had been a waitress at Duffey’s since long before Mia had moved there. She was pleasantly plump and somewhere in her mid to late thirties, and she always had a wide and infectious smile.
“Is the pool table taken?” Mia asked her.
“A group just cleared out. It’s all yours.” She gathered empties from a table, balancing the tray and making it look effortless. “It’s good to see Zeke back in town,” she said, conversationally. “Almost didn’t recognize him. He looks a lot different than he did at nineteen.” She winked and chuckled. “He spent a lot of summers here. Lord, he and those MacKenzies got into some trouble. I’m surprised Duffey even lets any of them in the door.”
“He must not be too mad,” Mia said. “They’re talking to each other.”
“That’s because Duffey is still trying to get Zeke to pay for some damages. Duffey just likes to complain. He’ll overcharge Zeke for the beers and then he’ll feel like he’s gotten away with something. Let me give you a tip. When you’re ready to order anything else, come find me. I’ll make sure your ticket is right.”
Mia shook her head and smiled. “Thanks, I appreciate it.”
“Hey, you guys have had a rough week. Duffey should be giving you the beer.” Jana stretched her neck out to the side to look around the corner toward Duffey. “Don’t tell him I said that. That man’s never given away a thing in his life.”
“Why do you work for him?”
“I’m his granddaughter.” Jana winked and smiled again, and then hefted the tray onto her shoulder and headed toward the kitchen.
Mia already felt the tension draining from her shoulders. Zeke had been right. It was nice to get out. They’d been cooped up at the shop or her apartment all week. It had been nothing but work and worry.
She headed to the far back of the restaurant and took the little hallway to the left. It was a private room they sometimes used for bachelor parties, but it was the only area big enough for the pool table. She tossed her leather jacket over a chair and went to check the cues. And then she racked the balls and waited for Zeke to arrive. Spot her a couple balls her ass.

Josh shakes his head, admonishing me. “Help your bro out and tie his tie.”
Lifting his chin upward to signal my help, I giggle. “You wear a tie nearly every day. Why the help all of a sudden?”
Blake’s ego make’s a surprise appearance from behind me as he quips, “It’s got to be because of his girl. What is it this week, Josh?”
Josh’s stare frosts over, but if anything, among his anger I sense a bit of fear as he grunts, “Shut up, Blake.”
Blake sticks his hands in his pockets, and struts around us, nose in the air. “C’mon, man. Don’t act like I don’t know you. There are only two things that make you nervous as hell. One, is spiders, you pussy. The second, well, that’s easy —commitment.”
My throat goes dry as I loop my brother’s tie into a Windsor knot. I mean, this conversation is perfectly normal, but let’s not forget Josh is my brother, and his girlfriend, Vanessa, is one of my best friends. The idea of throwing commitment into the already awkward equation throws me.
I peer up from my tying to see Josh already staring at me apprehensively. He chews the inside of his cheek, and releases a huff. “I’m not a commitment-phobe.”
Why is it I feel like I’m intruding on their conversation as I make my final adjustment to my brother’s tie?
Blake swivels around, smug and smiling, as if proud to admit whatever he’s about to say. “Bullshit. You and I both know we avoid commitment. It’s practically why we became friends. We understand each other. We avoid commitment by nature, but hey, that was until we met girls that handed our hearts to us on a silver platter, right?”
Josh cannot fight his agreeing chuckle, but tries to cover it up as he shoots me an apologetic smirk. “I guess I can’t argue with that. Vanessa’s worth it though. And don’t forget, you break my sisters heart, I ruin you.”
“Oh, ruin me? No death threats this time?” Blake goads with more attitude than I think he intends.
Josh turns around to face him, and it almost seems playful. I’m hopeful for an element of normality between them.
“I think it’s fair to assume both.”
Blake clicks his tongue, and I hate that I think Blake looks hot when he goes into alpha-asshole mode when I know I should be scolding him, but then again, sometimes it’s good to stand up to Josh.
“What makes you think she won’t break my heart?” Blake brazenly retorts.
There’s a pause in the room, and both men swing their stare to me.
Do I look like a deer in the headlights? Because I feel like one.
The thought never crossed my mind that I would ever break anyone’s heart, let alone Blake’s. I consider my college friend and tutor, Richard Bennett, as a possible broken heart when I denied his advances, but he ran back into the arms of his ex, Heather, so it seems far from fair for it to qualify.
Josh smiles warmly at me before turning back to Blake. “Skye? She can barely kill ants. What makes you think she would do the heart breaking when you’re far more experienced in that department?”
Blake’s angular face blushes an adorable pink that’s so unlike him as he bashfully turns away, avoiding Josh’s glare. “Because I love her, man. Duh. She holds all the cards. When have you ever heard me say that?”
Josh swallows down the idea before huffing, “I don’t know how I expect to get used to hearing that.”
With Josh’s back to me I release my full ear-to-ear grin at hearing Blake. He peers over Josh’s shoulder to purposefully lock his stare with mine. The delicate, and charming wrinkling around his eyes confirms everything, and more.
I’m caught in his spell as I pull in a deep inhale, eager to breathe him in, touch him, feel him —to just be near him. He knows it too as the corner of his mouth arches upward, and it’s as if he’s beckoning me.
Josh, sensing the forming tractor beam going right past his face turns his body, which only gives me the opening I need to begin my sprint into Blake’s arms.
Blake pulls his hands out of his pockets just in time to catch me.
I look up into my favorite emerald eyes, trying to speak in a whisper, “You don’t have to say things like that, you know?” thinking that maybe he says them to prove something, whether it’s to me or Josh.
He runs the tip of his nose down the bridge of mine, and that perfect bubble forms around us, and I haven’t got a care in the world.
“I know I don’t have to, but I want to. It’s the truth, isn’t it?”
Josh adjusts his throat loudly, rolling his eyes as he does it. Blake and I turn our attention to him.
“Spare me the PDA until I get used it, will you?” Josh snaps.
Blake defiantly drags his hands down my back, getting dangerously close to my ass. This time I’m the one who wants to roll my eyes, but it’s hard to ignore my body buzzing with anticipation at the movement.
Could we NOT do this front of my brother, please?

More than a little, actually, but that’s the problem. Kori won’t admit her own desires. She’s afraid of him and what he has to offer. Luckily for her, helping patients face their fears is one of his specialties.

She’s just found a place where she can belong. Another failed relationship is the last thing she needs. It’s better to guard her heart and let Kai think she’s frightened of his dark, dominant nature.

Kai’s brother, international superstar Jared Johns, is in town and Kai must juggle his family issues along with a desperate hunt for a serial killer. Kori ran back to her room and gave serious consideration to locking the door behind her. She could live here now. Sarah could stuff protein bars under the door and she could live off tap water. This could be her home for many years. As long as it took for that wicked look to get out of Kai’s eyes.
Or he would find a way inside anyway and then her ass was grass because that man looked serious.
She should have told him about the tires. She’d made that promise a long time before. In her attempts to avoid him the previous evening she’d decided that calling and telling him her car had been viciously attacked was counter productive to the whole point of avoiding him. Now with a whole night’s wisdom behind her, she could see that it might have been a mistake.
Locking him out of her room would probably be another mistake.
She turned on him. Maybe she could get out of this. “Hey, you know in all the craziness of last night I totally forgot to mention that my tires got messed up. Maybe that was a manufacturer defect or something. It’s hard to tell in the dark.”
He stood in the doorway to her bedroom. Past him, she could still hear a lot of talking since it seemed her normally quiet house had been invaded. It didn’t matter. They could talk all they liked because all Kori could see or really hear was Kai. “Are you certain that’s the tactic you want to take with me?”
“Nope. I’m not certain at all.” She wasn’t certain of anything. When she’d woken and realized he wasn’t still in bed with her, she’d been disappointed. She’d reached out and his side of the bed had been cold, and for a second she’d felt tears cloud her eyes. Then she’d decided it was a good thing. He’d done what she wanted him to do. He’d snuck out and avoided embarrassing morning-after stuff. Except he hadn’t. Apparently he’d invited friends over to witness the embarrassing morning-after stuff. “What are you still doing here?”
He crossed his arms over his chest. “What am I still doing here? I was making you and your friends some breakfast. I was attempting to be a good…houseguest.”
She was almost certain houseguest wasn’t what he’d meant to say. What other words would he have used? Boyfriend? Dom? Master? Every single one of them got her heart racing. Was she thinking of trying with Kai? Could her heart handle that? “How did everyone else get here?”
“My brother seems to be stalking me and Case came over because he was worried about you. Apparently he knew about someone vandalizing your car.”
That was news to her. “He did? I didn’t tell him.”
“Who did you tell?” The question came out with an edge of irritation.
“Sarah and Mia. I decided to wait until this morning to call someone because it was late last night.” And I’d been trying to avoid you only to end up having the best sleep of my life because I was wrapped around you. Yeah, she wasn’t going to say that.
“How about the police? Were you going to call them? If you’re going to make an insurance claim, you’ll need a police report. Or are you going to claim that your tires died of natural causes?”
She held her hands up, attempting to placate him. Why did her room seem so much smaller when he was in it? It was a good-sized room, but Kai took up all the space. “You’re right. I should have called last night, but I was tired and I wanted to get home and get in bed.”
His gorgeous eyes narrowed. “You weren’t in bed. You were sitting up with your friends drinking wine. Try again.”
“Kai, what’s going on here? It’s a couple of tires.”
“You were supposed to call me if you got in trouble.”
“I wasn’t really in…” What was she doing? Before yesterday, she would never have lied to Kai. Not right to his face. “I was nervous about seeing you after the scene.”
“Finally some honesty. I’ll handle it. I’ll deal with the police and get you what you need for your insurance. The boys from McKay-Taggart will set up some discreet surveillance cameras around our parking lot.”
There was a reason they didn’t have that. “I thought you didn’t want the patients to feel like they were walking into a secure zone.”
Some of them had serious issues with people watching them. They dealt with a lot of PTSD patients.
“I will deal with them. Your safety is more important. Now turn around, pull your pants down, and place your palms flat on the bed. It’s a count of thirty.”
She could actually feel her womb spasm. “What?”
Nothing about his face or stance told he was anything but dead serious. “This was a condition of your employment. It has been from the beginning.”
If she wasn’t careful her damn jaw was going to hit the floor. “I remember the conditions of my employment. Are you saying if I’d been late and hadn’t called, you would have spanked me?”
“I suppose we should be happy you’re a very prompt girl. And you tend to be good about calling. We’ll never know. What I do know is that after last night, I will definitely spank you and you’ll enjoy it. You might start showing up late just so you can walk into my office and present that juicy ass to me.” He moved in front of her, staring down at her with heat in his eyes. “I want you to think before you tell me no. I want you to question which side of the Kori I know is going to win this battle. Is it the funny, happy, brave Kori who never stands down from a challenge, or the one who’s denied herself for years because some idiot asshole Dom made her feel small. I won’t ever make you feel small. My job in life will be to lift you up, to help you be strong.”
His words cut through her. “What are you saying, Kai? Is this about you being my boss or acting as my play partner?”
She thought they’d worked it out last night.
His hands cupped her cheeks, forcing her to look up at him. “I’m acting as your Dom, Kori, and you know it. You can pretend all you like. You can call it whatever you want to, but you know how this ends. This ends with you and me.”
